Ranking of the world's gastronomic cities according to Time Out

According to Time Out magazine, a ranking of the top gastronomic cities in the world has been published. New Orleans in Louisiana is in first place. This city has always had a rich culinary history influenced by various cuisines, including French, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Here you can taste a variety of dishes, such as Creole shrimp, red beans and rice, boiled crawfish, and much more. Additionally, 93% of the city's residents highly rate restaurants and dining out.

Bangkok is in second place, where you can enjoy delicious dishes both in upscale restaurants and in street cafes at affordable prices. Local food was positively rated by 86% of local residents and 47% of culinary experts.

Medellin in Colombia ranks third in this ranking. Here you can find a variety of dishes in any price category: fresh fruits at the La Platzita de Flórez market, rustic dishes in every neighborhood, and exquisite delicacies in expensive establishments. 89% of local residents believe that dining out is affordable for almost everyone, and 94% confirm that coffee can be purchased for little money.

Also in the top 10 are Cape Town, Madrid, Mexico City, Lagos, Shanghai, and Jakarta.

It should be noted that due to the tariff policy of U.S. President Donald Trump, American consumers may face a beef shortage. The U.S. is already experiencing a beef shortage that may worsen due to new tariffs proposed by Trump. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, since the beginning of 2020, the average price of a pound of ground beef has risen from $3.90 to $5.60.
