Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine agrees to the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire, although Russia is trying to sabotage the peace process.

During his address on Ukrainian Volunteer Day on March 14, the president spoke about negotiations in Saudi Arabia, where the U.S. proposed a ceasefire as the first step towards ending the war.

'When our team in Jeddah heard this proposal, they contacted me, and I immediately agreed. We do not want to play games with war. Every day of war is a loss of our people's lives, and that is the most precious thing we have,' Zelensky emphasized.

According to the president, yesterday Putin put forward additional conditions that indicate Russia's unwillingness to stop hostilities. He exposed Putin, who lies about the situation on the battlefield, casualties, and Russia's economic state.

Zelensky noted that the U.S. proposal entails an unconditional ceasefire first, followed by the preparation of a peace plan and discussions of its details. He urged the U.S. and other countries to pressure Russia to end the war.

The president reminded about the duration of Russia's war against Ukraine and the hybrid war that has lasted over 11 years. He stressed that Ukraine desires peace and asks Russia to leave their territory.

Earlier, after a conversation with Putin, Trump stated there are 'good chances' for ending the war.
