The government has approved a new rule for social scholarships: who will receive money.

The government of Ukraine expands the opportunities for obtaining social scholarships
The government of Ukraine has amended the rules for awarding social scholarships, providing more opportunities for students from vulnerable categories of the population. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the new regulation abolishes age restrictions that hindered many young people from receiving state support.
These changes will allow children from privileged categories, such as internally displaced persons, children of combatants, persons with disabilities due to war, and persons deprived of liberty, to receive a social scholarship from the state even after reaching 18 years of age and up to 23 years inclusive.
It is fundamentally important that this norm will apply regardless of when exactly the child obtained the corresponding status - before or after reaching the age of 18.
The previous system had a serious flaw: if a child or their parents were assigned the corresponding status after reaching adulthood, the student automatically lost the right to the social scholarship. This created unequal conditions among youth with the same needs.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense explained what consequences await students who did not undergo military training.
