Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, let's remember Yuriy Kirpik.

Yuriy Kirpik, an executive television producer, died in the war with Russia. He worked on the iconic shows 'Weight Loss and Happiness', 'Dancing Everyone!', 'For Real!', 'Let's Talk About Sex', 'All Together', 'House of Happiness', 'Giovanni'. This was reported by 'Glavkom', citing a statement from the STB channel, with which Kirpik was closely associated, and the National Union of Journalists.

«In our Starlightmedia family, there is a great loss... Yuriy Kirpik has died. It's hard to believe this and find words of support for his family and friends. For some of us, he was a colleague, for others a true friend, a person who always supported, joked, and brought light even in the toughest times» - wrote the deceased's colleague Oleksandr Bykov on March 13, 2025.

The executive producer of ICTV channel, Anastasia Hrabar, noted that Yuriy was the most professional television worker she had ever worked with: «Now you will be guarding us from the sky... my friend. It's an honor to know you, Hero!».

In 2012, for the project 'Weight Loss and Happiness', he, along with his colleagues, received the 'Teletriumph' award.

«All these days since I learned about your death, I simply didn't know what to write, I was afraid that as soon as I write, it would become reality... A terrible reality, a real tragedy, and unbearable pain... You were a very good person: loving, caring, genuine, tireless, impulsive, enthusiastic, brave, devoted... I will always remember our work, communication, and the last meeting in the summer of '22 after my performance in Uzhgorod, when I opened the dressing room door, and behind a huge bouquet of flowers saw: my person! Thank you, Yuriy, for being there, thank you for everything you did for us, eternal glory to the Hero, heartfelt condolences to the family and friends!» - wrote Olesya Zhura Kyivska.

Kirpik's colleagues did not disclose which unit and position he served in. The circumstances of his death are also unknown.

The farewell to the hero took place on March 19 in the ritual hall at Baikova, 16 in Kyiv. The defender was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the Berkovets cemetery.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Yuriy Kirpik became the 99th in the list of killed media workers, who were killed by Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

'Glavkom' joins in a minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the fight for their homeland. We remember those killed by the Russian invaders, lighting candles of memory and bowing our heads in sorrow during a nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack of enemy troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
