Zelensky appointed new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the reason has been named.


The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Major General Andriy Hnatov as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that before this, Hnatov held the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'In order to improve the quality of military management, by the decree of the President of Ukraine - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Major General Andriy HNATOV has been appointed as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine', the message states.
The General Staff noted that Major General Andriy Hnatov has the following tasks:
- to enhance the effectiveness of the management vertical of the Armed Forces, particularly in the process of reorganization and the implementation of a corps structure,
- to ensure prompt decision-making and implementation by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters,
- as well as to implement combat experience in planning and managing troops.
Lieutenant General Anatoliy Bargilevich will continue to serve as the Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In addition, the new Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received important tasks of controlling the reform processes being implemented in the army, checking compliance with legislation and decisions adopted in the Ministry of Defense system, considering his extensive management experience gained in the Armed Forces.
