WP: Trump discusses war in Ukraine with Putin.

US President Donald Trump had his first phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin after winning the elections. According to WP, during the conversation Trump urged Putin not to escalate tensions in Ukraine and reminded him of the significant presence of American troops in Europe. They also discussed the issue of peace on the European continent and the swift resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government was informed about the phone call and did not object to such a dialogue. The Ukrainian side hopes that Trump and Putin will find diplomatic ways to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Trump also had a 'friendly' conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which Elon Musk participated. Ukraine needs economic and military support to resist the aggressor, so Zelenskyy is considering candidates for the position of Ukrainian ambassador to the US.
