In Ukraine, the electricity payment system will change: who will be charged 2.64 hryvnias.

Member of the parliamentary Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services Serhiy Nahorniak stated that Ukrainians should not expect an increase in electricity tariffs in the near future. According to him, the market price for electricity currently stands at 7-8 hryvnias per kilowatt, which allows state energy companies to cover costs and make a profit from electricity sales. The state has also expanded the list of privileged categories of consumers.
From the beginning of 2025, the preferential tariff of 2.64 hryvnias per kilowatt will be valid until the end of April for residents of apartment buildings without gas supply or with heating supply problems. Owners of two-zone meters will be able to pay only 1.32 hryvnias per kilowatt during nighttime. The same conditions apply to users of electric boilers.
Serhiy Nahorniak also spoke about the advantages of installing two-zone meters, which energy suppliers provide for free or can be purchased independently for 1.5 thousand hryvnias. In addition, Ukrainians can obtain an interest-free loan for 10 years of up to 480 thousand hryvnias for the installation of solar power stations and accumulators.
Earlier, Serhiy Nahorniak explained the necessity of tariffs for the population, stating that funds from the tariff go to support and restore hydroelectric power stations, ensuring the stability of the energy system and electricity supply to the population. Socially vulnerable categories of the population and owners of two-zone meters receive special attention in the context of establishing electricity tariffs.
