Ukraine will join the EU by 2030 - Deputy Prime Minister Stefanishina

According to Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishina, Ukraine will become a member of the European Union by 2030. She noted that this decision is practically made and realistic. Olha Stefanishina made this statement during the 'Exporters Summit 2025' by Forbes Ukraine.

Reacting to the statement of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen about the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU by 2030, Stefanishina emphasized the seriousness of this plan. She noted that the EU budget for the coming years already takes into account Ukraine's membership.

'The seriousness of the EU's intentions can be assessed by Hungary's efforts to block the inclusion of Ukraine in the next EU budget,' said the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to Stefanishina, Ukraine has a deadline until 2027 to fulfill all obligations to the EU, without transitional periods. This means that the necessary legislation for integration will be developed in 2025-2026 and adopted in 2027.

At the same Time, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine is already integrated in many sectors of the European Union, including telecommunications, trade, transport, customs services, and energy.

However, there are issues that need to be resolved, particularly in agriculture. Nevertheless, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that this is not an obstacle to integration, as many issues have already been resolved.
