NABU commented on the prospects of membership in the OECD working group on combating bribery.

The leaders of Ukraine's anti-corruption bodies hope that Ukrainian legislation will be successfully aligned with the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery and that Ukraine will be able to become a member of this organization.
"We are optimistic that by January (2025) we will be able to report that we are ready and submit the relevant application (for membership in the OECD working group - ed.)," said the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Semen Kryvonos, at a conference in Kyiv "Ukraine on the way to the OECD and joining the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery."
He emphasized that joining the OECD Convention is an important stage for Ukraine, especially in the context of its efforts towards European integration.
The Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), Oleksandr Klymenko, noted that Ukraine began the process of joining the OECD and the OECD working group on combating bribery in 2022.
According to him, during this Time, concepts and models of legal responsibility were developed. "The first attempt was unsuccessful - the proposed draft law was not accepted by the working group, they advised to develop a new one," noted Klymenko.
The Head of SAP emphasized: "We are confident that the parliament will choose the best model from the bills developed with the participation of SAP, NABU, and other organizations to provide us with the best tool to combat corruption, ensure justice, and improve Ukraine's investment climate."
