Poland plans to conduct military training for 100 thousand volunteers
The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, announced an intention to conduct military training for 100 thousand volunteers. He also mentioned that starting from 2026, every volunteer should have the opportunity to undergo such training.
“This will be a challenging task, but it needs to be done,” noted Tusk.
The President of Poland stated that starting from 2027, Warsaw plans to double the number of volunteers undergoing training.
“In 2027, we plan to train 100 thousand volunteers within a year. I am confident that there will be no shortage of those willing. Any adult person aged 18 to 60 who is interested in participating in the training will receive detailed information,” he stated.
The standard training for volunteers, regardless of gender, will last for a month, during which they will receive a monetary reward of 6 thousand zlotys (over 60 thousand hryvnias).
“To encourage volunteers, we are also considering the possibility of granting rights to drive heavy vehicles, which may be useful in civilian life,” Tusk reported.
Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to undergo special training, such as driving heavy equipment or mastering the profession of a drone operator, using the experience of the Ukrainian army.
Tusk reported that the government plans to utilize the experience of veterans, including former special forces, in training volunteers. To this end, a center called 'Second Mission' is to be established, where former Polish special forces will participate in preparing the volunteers.
