According to World Bank forecasts, the Ukrainian economy will grow by 3.2% by the end of 2024. In 2025, GDP growth is expected to be 2%, and by 2026 - 7%. This is linked to significant damages from the Russian invasion and electricity issues.
"Countries in the Europe and Central Asia region skillfully weathered recent shocks of high inflation, the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and weak expansion in the European Union, a key export market for the region," said Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia.
According to her, to increase labor productivity, countries in the region need to improve the quality of education. This is important for strengthening human capital and creativity.
