Svitolina Surpasses Kostyuk in WTA Ranking and Becomes Ukraine's Top Player.


The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has updated the ranking of the best tennis players in the world. Elina Svitolina has become Ukraine's top player, surpassing Marta Kostyuk. Currently, Svitolina is in 23rd place in the ranking, while Kostyuk is 24th. Dayana Yastremska is in 46th place, and Angelina Kalinina is in 54th. In the WTA doubles ranking, Lyudmyla Kichenok remains Ukraine's top player, holding the ninth position.

The Ukrainian men's tennis team will play against the team of the Dominican Republic in the Davis Cup. The match will take place on September 12-13 or 13-14, 2025. Ukraine has never faced the Dominican Republic in the Davis Cup before. In the last match, the Ukrainian team lost to Tunisia with a score of 2-3. It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian men's team has never played in the Davis Cup final.
