Finnish President Alexander Stubbs stated that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in either a ceasefire or peace, but instead is 'playing games' to continue the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the Finnish publication Yle.

'Putin does not aim for a ceasefire, cessation of hostilities, or peace. His main goal is to destroy the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and this has not changed. I hope that we can continue the West's pressure, which will force Russia to stop firing,' the Finnish politician stated.

These statements were made after a meeting in support of Ukraine, organized by Great Britain on March 15. Stubbs noted that during the remote meeting held by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an important step was taken to strengthen pressure on Russia.

The Finnish President also remarked that a coalition of countries supporting Ukraine is forming. It includes about 30 countries, not only European ones. 'Great Britain and France play a strong leadership role, and everyone has a clear understanding of the situation: Ukraine wants peace and a ceasefire, Russia does not,' stressed Stubbs.

According to the Finnish president, the West must increase pressure on Russia to force it to stop its aggression against Ukraine.

Let us remind you, Canada’s new Prime Minister Carly called on Russia to sit down at the negotiating table immediately.
