On the evening of March 20, 2025, a large-scale attack by Russian drones occurred in Odesa and the surrounding area. As a result of these attacks, major fires broke out, there are casualties, and local power outages were reported.

The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, reported that Russian drones targeted civilian facilities in Odesa. 'Odesa is on fire, Russian drones are hitting civilian facilities in the city, there are casualties,' he wrote on social media.

According to reports from 'Dumska', the southern outskirts of the city were hit the hardest. The drones attacked from the Black Sea while air defense was operational. Gunfire could be heard in the city.

After 10 PM, at least 15 explosions were reported in Odesa. Some residents reported power supply interruptions. The State Enterprise 'DTEK' announced that emergency power outages occurred in the Primorsky, Peresyp, and Kyiv districts of Odesa.

Residents of Tairovo and the southern suburbs experienced a strong smell of smoke and ash in the streets.

Military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko noted that this was 'the largest attack by Shahed-136 on Odesa in 3 years.' He also pointed out that the occupiers used a new tactic, entering the city at altitudes over 2000 meters and sharply diving the drone. At such heights, it is practically impossible to shoot down a drone with small arms, the expert noted.

The local authorities urged residents to stay in shelters until the air raid alert has ended.
