Honored Ukrainian biathlete Vita Semerenko reported that her grandmother was killed as a result of shelling by Russian troops in the village of Krasnopillya in Sumy region. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

On March 23, my grandmother's heart stopped beating. On the 21st, my grandmother turned 90 years old. She could have lived longer, but the damned Russians took her life. When they erased my Krasnopillya in three days with violence, they also took my grandmother. They erased my home, erased her life, erased the memory. Damn inhuman beings, burn in hell for all the evil you have brought to this land. You are not human – you are beasts, and retribution will come.

Valentina Semerenko also announced the death of her grandmother.

The light has gone out in the little window, the gentle breeze sighs quietly. My dear grandmother, tender, kind, has already been taken by eternity.

A volleyball player from Kropyvnytskyi, Andriy Romanov, was also killed in the war against the Russian occupiers.

Andriy Romanov was 33 years old.

After the start of the full-scale war, Andriy initially engaged in volunteering, and later joined the Defense Forces. He was a combat medic.

It is now difficult to find words. An acquaintance, a comrade, a friend, a loved one. He always was such a... positive person.

Andriy Romanov is survived by his wife and little son.

With sorrow, Serhiy Zhuravlyov bids farewell

Serhiy Zhuravlyov was an important player of Valeriy Lobanovskyi's championship team in the early 1980s. He was one of the most talented defenders of his generation. Under his direct involvement, the team won two championships and a USSR Cup. He also made a name for himself as a player in the youth national team that became European champion in 1980.

As a coach, Serhiy Mykolayovych left an even greater legacy. For many years, he nurtured young talents at the children's and youth school's 'Dynamo' in Kyiv. His mentees became the most talented players in domestic football and played for Ukrainian and foreign clubs.
