NATO Official Explained Why Ukraine is Not Yet Invited to the Alliance.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Gerry Connolly reported that Ukraine is on the path to joining the Alliance. However, the main obstacle is the war on its territory. He noted that NATO and the USA support Ukraine's desire for membership. Connolly also emphasized that the accession should cover the entire territory, including the occupied parts. When asked about the possibility of inviting Ukraine to NATO by the end of Joe Biden's presidential term, Connolly noted that this process requires consultations with other Alliance members. He also stressed the need to end violence in the Ukrainian territories. Regarding the relations between the USA and Germany, he noted that Chancellor Olaf Scholz supports NATO's goals and that German aspirations regarding Ukraine align with American ones.
