No payment needed: which transport Ukrainian pensioners can travel for free.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 17, 1993, No. 354 'On free travel for pensioners on public transport', pensioners are granted the opportunity to travel for free on public transport in Ukraine if they present their pension certificate.
Currently, this rule applies to trolleybuses, trams, regular buses, and suburban trains. However, pensioners must pay for travel on such types of transport as taxis, minivans, commuter trains, and intercity trains. It is also worth noting that private minibuses must provide free travel for privileged categories defined by local councils. Minibus drivers are required to display information about benefits and discounts in the bus interior.
Regarding the new electronic ticket system, nothing will change for pensioners. They will continue to benefit from free travel, only instead of a paper ticket, they will receive an electronic one.
It is also important to note that traffic rules are planned to be updated in Kyiv.
