Apple Introduced a New Budget iPhone SE

Apple has unveiled a new model of iPhone aimed at the budget segment of the smartphone market. The goal is to increase its market share and compete with Samsung and Huawei.

According to Reuters, the new iPhone SE will compete with Android smartphones and will feature artificial intelligence tools.

The previous version of the iPhone SE, released in 2022, costs $429, and it is expected that the new model will be more expensive than this.

'If the SE 4 offers significant improvements in design, performance, and AI features, it will positively impact its market attractiveness and strengthen Apple's position in various price segments,' noted analyst Varun Mishra.

Apple forecasts strong sales growth following the introduction of artificial intelligence features, but analysts believe that this could be limited due to the phased introduction of AI features in various regions and in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

According to Counterpoint Research, the share of SE sales from the total revenue of iPhone has decreased from 10% in 2016 to 1% last year.

The new SE model is expected to have a new design, the absence of a physical Home button, FaceID functionality, an improved camera, and a processor to support AI features. Additionally, the SE model will use a USB Type-C port for charging, abandoning the Lightning port.

The current iPhone SE model and iPhone 14 have already been withdrawn from sale in the European Union as they do not comply with the USB Type-C charging standard. However, the new SE model will reappear in the EU market.
