The Chief of the General Staff explained how the Armed Forces of Ukraine thwarted the enemy's plans in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The Russian occupiers tried to overcome the defense of the Ukrainian troops in the Zaporizhzhia direction, but our soldiers were better and dealt them preemptive strikes that disrupted the enemy's plans. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Anatoly Burhilovich, in his interview with military correspondent Andriy Tsapliienko.
He noted that the Ukrainian troops received information in advance about the enemy's intentions, which allowed them to strike at Russian military units before their actions began.
However, Burhilovich acknowledged that the enemy has an advantage in numbers and weaponry. Ukraine must consider these factors when planning defensive actions.
The Commander-in-Chief does not rule out the possibility of an increase in the number of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia direction. He confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already taking measures to prevent such scenarios.
Predictions regarding the voluntary abandonment by servicemen
Anatoly Burhilovich predicts that the number of cases of voluntary abandonment by servicemen may decrease. This may be a consequence of an increase in the duration of basic military training.
According to ISW analysts, the Ukrainian military has advanced near Sudzha in the Kursk region. However, there is also noted advancement by Russian occupiers near Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, Vuhledar, and Velyka Novosilka.
Recall that Russian troops made a landing across the Oskil River south of Novomlynsk in the Kharkiv region on November 25.
