In Chernihiv region, local authorities have leveled a cemetery of Holodomor victims.

In the Chernihiv region, in the village of Ivkivtsi, a cemetery where Holodomor victims are buried has been destroyed. This was reported by 'Glavcom' with reference to the National Museum of Holodomor.
The village head Roman Yuvchenko explained that the work at the cemetery site is being carried out by decision of the executive committee and in accordance with the landscaping program.
According to Yuvchenko, the plot where grading is taking place is not considered a cemetery by the community plan, and the work on clearing bushes and leveling the ground was carried out specifically on a part of the old cemetery plot that does not contain visible signs of any burials.
Local residents say that they were not warned and no one consulted with them about the works at the cemetery. They immediately approached the village head with a request to stop the work: the village elders know from their relatives that burials from the Holodomor period are indeed located in that part. As is known, during the Holodomor years, burial ceremonies were not conducted for the deceased according to Christian tradition, and the dead were buried in mass graves, where from several dozen to several hundred bodies were placed. This was overseen by a specially appointed person at the collective farm level - as stated in the report.
According to the National Book of Memory, at least 162 people died in Ivkivtsi during the Holodomor years, among them many children. The cemetery in Ivkivtsi is one of more than a thousand mass burial sites in Ukraine.
The National Museum of Holodomor-Genocide contacted the head of the Ladan community and the head of the Priluky district state administration with a message about the value and importance of preserving this burial site from the Holodomor period, as well as a request to restore the memorial area as much as possible and mark it.
The Lipovets District Court issued a verdict against the villain who desecrated a soldier's grave. The man will spend four years in prison.
In Vinnytsia, a fight occurred near the entrance to the Sabaryv cemetery, during which hooligans assaulted the cemetery guard.
