Russia continues to strike Ukrainian energy facilities

Ukrainian energy facilities continue to be hit by the Russian Federation despite promises to cease fire. This is reported by the 'Glavkom' portal citing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's advisor Dmytro Lytvyn.

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that he ordered his army to cease strikes after a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. However, since March 18, Ukraine has recorded eight confirmed strikes on energy facilities.

'Every night our air defense forces shoot down about a hundred strike drones - and many of them likely targeted other energy facilities. If it weren't for our defenders, the number of strikes could have been much higher,' Lytvyn stated.

It is worth noting that Putin supported U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal for a 30-day mutual moratorium on strikes by Russia and Ukraine on energy infrastructure. However, just an hour after this, the Russians violated the energy truce by striking a critical facility in Sloviansk.

At the same Time, U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff refused to acknowledge that Russia violated the agreement on non-aggression against Ukraine's energy infrastructure after Trump's conversation with Putin.

For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Kyiv violated the truce with Russia, which was previously proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
