The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in phone conversations with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, expressed support for Ukraine and called for strengthening Europe’s defense.
A communiqué from the Élysée Palace, which is owned by Ukrinform, reveals the content of these conversations.
'The leaders emphasized the necessity of enhancing support for Ukraine in order to win against Russian aggression and to restore Ukraine's legitimate rights,' the statement noted.
This support includes strengthening the European defense industrial and technological base to reduce strategic dependence and enhance production capabilities.
'The President reaffirmed to his colleagues the need to build a powerful defense of Europe, security, and partnership, especially in an international context marked by multiplying crises and Russian aggressive war in Ukraine,' the office of the President of France added.
