Municipal 'Surprise': Expert Reveals Scheme with Inflated Bills.

In Kyiv, a significant increase in housing service tariffs is expected from March. The cost of services will rise to 10-14 hryvnias per square meter, which is twice, and in some cases three times, higher than current prices.
The head of the Consumers' Union of Communal Services Oleg Popenko, in a broadcast on the 'Kyiv24' channel, reported that the average cost of a full package of services for maintaining the adjacent territory, including disinfection and the work of janitors, amounts to 9-10 hryvnias per square meter.
At the same Time, he noted that there is currently a shortage of staff, specifically a lack of janitors, plumbers, and electricians for inspecting buildings.
The expert also expressed concerns about the procedure for conducting the competition to select service-providing companies.
'In the competition, companies that offered cheaper prices participated, but for some reason, those who offered the most expensive services won,' Popenko stated.
Earlier, the expert compared the cost of electricity in Ukraine with prices in Switzerland.
