Drivers in Ukraine are being prepared for punishment: what fines threaten them.

Ukrainian drivers who slow down in front of automatic violation detection cameras may face penalties. This information is provided by 'Khvylia', citing UAMotors.
Currently, approximately 70,000 surveillance systems are operating in Ukraine; however, their effectiveness in combating law violations is limited due to a lack of unified operational standards.
'Ukrainian drivers are trying to deceive the cameras. They intentionally reduce their speed in the camera zones, and after passing, they exceed the limit again. To prevent this practice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with MPs, has developed a new draft law,' the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
This draft law provides for the implementation of a system for measuring the average speed of vehicles between two cameras. If the average speed exceeds the limit, the system will automatically record the violation. This will effectively counter the situation where drivers slow down only at camera locations.
Records from surveillance cameras are important evidence in solving many crimes today. They are also used to identify and detect enemy military personnel in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is trying to speed up the adoption of the draft law to improve the effectiveness of the violation detection system and make circumventing traffic rules impossible.
It is also worth noting that in Ukraine, fines for traffic violations detected by automatic cameras are sent to the owners of the vehicles on which the car is registered. This applies regardless of who was driving the car at the Time of the violation - responsibility is placed on the owner.
Earlier, drivers were informed about the countries where they could drive with Ukrainian licenses.
