One of the cafe owners, Edryn Sykes, stated: 'We felt we had to do something, even if small, to support Ukrainians. Especially after everything they have been through, and Trump and Pence treating Zelensky this way.'
This idea received support from cafe visitors. One of them said: 'It was amazing! Over the weekend, we even set up a donation box. People are putting in 20 or 50 dollars, and we raised over 2000. This is a big achievement for our little town.'
Another cafe owner, Jen, noted that the conflict between Trump and Zelensky in the US was unacceptable and absurd. She said: 'I was disgusted. The person came to ask for help, and they belittle him. It’s just bullying, like in school. We don’t tolerate this, especially from a head of state. It’s unacceptable! And what’s happening on the international stage - it’s hard to believe.'
The funds raised from this initiative will be donated to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal program. This program provides assistance to those affected by the war in Ukraine, including humanitarian aid, medical services, and support for displaced persons.
This initiative by the Australian cafe owners exemplifies how even small actions can make a difference. It highlights the importance of international support for Ukraine in wartime.
We remind you that a meeting between the Presidents of the USA and Ukraine took place on February 28 in Washington. During the meeting, a quarrel arose, and later Zelensky spoke about it in an interview with Fox News.
According to the sociological company AtlasIntel, the rating of the US President Donald Trump has significantly dropped, especially in the context of his economic management.
