From apartment to hotel: a new trend among Generation Z in China.

Members of Generation Z, or Zoomers, are increasingly opting to stay in hotels instead of renting apartments. According to them, hotel life has many advantages compared to renting.
According to a report from the Sixth Tone portal based on data from 'Glavkom', this trend is particularly prevalent in China. This is evidenced by the story of a family of eight who decided to live in a luxury hotel in Henan province. They have a deal with the hotel and live for $140 a day, which is cheaper than renting or buying a home since utilities are included in the price. The family plans to live in the hotel permanently.
Such cases are not limited to one family. Chinese Zoomers are increasingly choosing this path, noting that unlike renting, hotel life does not require communication with landlords or cleaning. The only drawbacks of living in a hotel are the inability to repair and cook, but many do not see this as a problem.
Chinese Zoomers are captivated by hotel life
Hu Weiwei, a 24-year-old professional gamer, admitted that he feels constant anxiety in social interactions and therefore decided to live in a hotel. By choosing this option, he avoids issues with landlords and receives utility services at the end of the month without additional payments. The hotel living option also has other advantages, such as the presence of shops, restaurants, and nearby metro stations.
The cost of renting a room in an apartment in Tianjin is 1000 yuan per month, while a separate apartment costs 2000-3000 yuan. A hotel room can be rented for 2500 yuan. Weiwei lives in a hotel in Jilin and is satisfied with this living arrangement.
It is worth noting that staying in well-known hotel chains is more expensive, but provides additional services such as 24-hour access to the gym, breakfasts, and panoramic views of the city from the room.
Among the latest news from China, it is worth mentioning that there have been cases of mysterious deaths of renowned Chinese specialists in artificial intelligence development.
