In Ukraine, prices for pepper and tomatoes have risen again: cucumbers have become cheaper.

Prices for certain vegetables for spring salads continue to rise, which is bad news for buyers.
According to the Minfin portal, fresh peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers have become even more expensive for the average consumer. Many Ukrainians are forced to limit their purchasing activity regarding these products or even completely abandon them, waiting for the season when prices usually decrease.
According to the price monitoring in popular retail chains, yellow bell pepper has on average risen to 269.47 UAH per kilogram, which is 23.44 UAH higher than the average price in February, when it cost 246.03 UAH per kilogram. The highest price for pepper was set by Megamarket - 343.50 UAH per kilogram, making this vegetable practically luxurious for many.
The prices for tomatoes have also increased significantly. If in February the average price for red tomatoes was 107.64 UAH per kilogram, in March it rose to 133.60 UAH. The price for pink tomatoes particularly rose from 160.11 UAH to 249.50 UAH per kilogram. Prices for plum tomatoes have also increased from 122.99 UAH to 166.25 UAH.
The situation with cucumber prices is not unambiguous. Prices for smooth cucumbers have dropped from 144.75 UAH to 118.55 UAH per kilogram, which is a pleasant exception in the context of a general rise. Cucumbers of the 'Estafeta' variety have also become cheaper - 173.63 UAH compared to 274.94 UAH in February, which may be related to the start of the season in some greenhouse farms.
Let us remind you that in Ukraine prices for bread, lard, and bacon have skyrocketed.
