Ukrainians Receive 'Letters from the NBU': How Not to Fall for Scammers' Tricks.

Cybersecurity experts have discovered a new type of fraud where scammers impersonate employees of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The criminals use forged data from the official institution to try to deceive citizens through emails with falsified information.
'A fraudulent campaign has been recorded involving the distribution of letters with malicious attachments that mimic official letters from the NBU - in the subject line of the email and the name of the attached file. The criminals send emails from various addresses but indicate a fake e-mail in the signature: nbu@gov.nbu.ua, similar to the official domain of the National Bank of Ukraine'
Especially dangerous are the attachments to the letters, which may contain malware or links to phishing sites. The National Bank emphasizes that the official email of its employees has the domain @bank.gov.ua.
- Avoid downloading any files from suspicious emails
- Do not click on links in dubious messages
- Carefully check the sender addresses
- In case of doubts, contact the official communication channels of the NBU
Experts advise being vigilant with emails that may deceive citizens. The criminals try to appear official and use cunning methods that make their letters inconspicuous to less experienced users. Be careful during virtual communication, as it threatens your personal data!
In the new type of fraud, cybercriminals use forged data from the National Bank of Ukraine, attempting to gain access to citizens' personal information through email. To avoid fraud, it is essential to follow simple internet safety rules and be vigilant regarding suspicious letters or attachments that arrive in your inbox.
