Ukraine Returned the Bodies of 757 Fallen Defenders
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that as a result of repatriation efforts, the bodies of 757 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine.
Among these fallen, 451 were from the Donetsk direction, 71 from the Bakhmut direction, 51 from the Vuhledar direction, 13 from the Luhansk direction, 137 from the Zaporizhzhia direction, and 34 bodies were returned from morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The fallen defenders were returned as a result of the joint efforts of the employees of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Central Office of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the United Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine.
The Coordination Headquarters expressed its gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance.
In previous repatriations, 502 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine. In particular, 397 warriors from the Donetsk direction, 24 from the Luhansk direction, 64 from the Zaporizhzhia direction, and 17 bodies from morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation.
It is also worth noting that 563 fallen defenders were returned on November 8.
It should be noted that law enforcement agencies are investigating over 50 criminal cases regarding the killings of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
