A newborn in Vinnytsia nearly died from chickenpox.

In Vinnytsia, doctors performed surgery on a seven-month-old child who had complications from chickenpox. According to the Vinnytsia Regional Children's Hospital, the child developed chickenpox phlegmon.
The little one was brought to the hospital with a diagnosis of chickenpox. However, after treatment, the patient's condition deteriorated. Pain, redness, and swelling appeared on the left shoulder blade, which quickly spread. Doctors diagnosed chickenpox phlegmon, caused by a bacterial infection.
“Chickenpox is a common disease among children that usually runs without complications. However, serious complications can arise, such as chickenpox phlegmon. This case illustrates the complexity of diagnosing and treating this complication,” the message stated.
The child successfully underwent surgery and recovered from the complications. They completed a full course of treatment and were discharged on the 13th day under the supervision of a family doctor.
It is worth noting that there are plans to expand the regional rehabilitation center for children in Vinnytsia. The draft decision of the Vinnytsia Regional Council includes the construction of three new buildings.
