The Italian coach has been added to the 'Peacemaker' database
The well-known head coach of the Italian women's volleyball team, Julio Velasco, now features on the 'Peacemaker' website due to accusations of spreading Russian propaganda. In March, the coach expressed his disappointment over the absence of Russian teams at international tournaments.
After the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Russian volleyball clubs and national teams were excluded from international competitions by the decision of the FIVB. Velasco believes that the absence of Russian teams has been a significant loss for world volleyball since they were among the strongest at the women's level.
«At the women's level, the best clubs are from Russia, Turkey, and Italy. The absence of a sporting state like Russia greatly affects volleyball. This is a significant loss for both women's and men's volleyball. The sanctions against Russia in a sporting sense are absurd,» Velasco stated.

Former Russian national team footballer Dmitry Sennikov has also found himself on the 'Peacemaker' list. He is accused of crimes against Ukraine, including illegally visiting Crimea and participating in propaganda events.
Born in 1976, Sennikov previously played for the Russian national football team at the World and European Championships. His connection to the events in Ukraine was the basis for his inclusion in the 'Peacemaker'.
Authorities in global volleyball and football have been included in the 'Peacemaker' list. Julio Velasco and Dmitry Sennikov are accused of spreading Russian propaganda and violating relations with Ukraine, which led to their inclusion on this list.Read also
