The USA Will Lose the Maritime Arms Race to China.

China produces more submarines and warships than the USA every year
Admiral Samuel Paparo, the commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, confirmed the lagging American military shipbuilding compared to China. This could lead to a shift in the balance of maritime power in the region. According to him, China produces more submarines and warships than the USA annually. This puts the American fleet in a difficult position as they strive to maintain dominance in the Indo-Pacific region.
Even now, the U.S. Navy has fewer warships and submarines than China. The Chinese fleet is the largest in the world, with 234 warships and about 60 submarines, of which 12 are nuclear-powered. The issue for the USA is the gap between the number of ships built by Chinese and American shipyards. Chinese shipyards produce far more ships as they benefit from state ownership, lower labor costs, and the integration of military and civilian production.
However, the USA hopes to outpace China in the development of space technologies, which could maintain their advantage in a potential conflict over Taiwan. Admiral Paparo emphasized that the pace of U.S. shipbuilding development does not match that of China. To address this issue, the U.S. Navy's budget for 2025 includes significant investments in the development of the submarine fleet. However, experts warn that this requires long-term investments and reforms in the industry.
