The Signal messenger has stopped responding to requests from Ukrainian law enforcement authorities

The Signal messenger has lost the ability to respond to requests from law enforcement agencies in Ukraine due to changes in U.S. policy. Deputy head of the National Security and Defense Council Serhiy Demedyuk stated that Signal previously actively collaborated with law enforcement, but after political changes, its position has changed.

Demedyuk noted that Signal established a separate communication channel with Ukrainian law enforcement, but currently this communication has stopped. He hopes that this is a temporary phenomenon.

The deputy head of the NSDC also mentioned that previously only Telegram did not respond to requests from law enforcement, and now Signal has joined it. After the arrest of Pavel Durov in France, the Telegram administration provided law enforcement with a tool for communication, which improved the communication process with this messenger.

It is worth noting that Signal now allows users to communicate with each other in the app without revealing their mobile phone number. In Ukraine, Signal is the most secure messenger, followed by WhatsApp, Trema, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram.
