The Ukrainian prosecutor's office has started an investigation regarding the murder of three captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Russian soldiers. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General citing
Glavkom.
According to the investigation, on May 3, 2025, three soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were carrying out a mission near the village of Novopil in the Donetsk region. During the assault, they were surrounded by the occupiers, forced to surrender and taken prisoner. After that, Russian military personnel opened fire on them with automatic weapons.
The prosecutor's office has launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning the commission of a war crime resulting in the loss of life.
Earlier, Russian troops committed similar war crimes against Ukrainian prisoners, shooting them during assaults and capture. Now the Ukrainian prosecutor's office has begun to conduct a relevant analysis and investigation into these crimes.
