Putin has turned migration into a tool of hybrid warfare - media.

Russia's actions are a warning that U.S. adversaries may engage in asymmetrical warfare by exploiting border vulnerabilities.
The Biden-Harris administration has failed to secure the borders, as evidenced by the numerous illegal crossings over the past four years. This is five times more than during Trump's first term. The situation is particularly concerning with over 176,000 illegal migrants arriving from hostile countries, many of whom are draft-age men.
Trump's return would mean a return to border policies emphasizing security and U.S. sovereignty. U.S. Air Force veteran and Congressman Pat Fallon believes Trump will have to contend with a more unstable geopolitical landscape than before.
U.S. adversaries are employing less direct strategies by using mass migration as a means to sow discord and chaos. For example, Russia is using illegal migration as a weapon against its European neighbors, particularly in Eastern Europe.
Russia's decision to launch the largest ground war in Europe since World War II has demonstrated the tragic consequences when nation-states devalue hard power. Putin has relished the fact that the biggest and wealthiest countries in Europe have been using taxpayer money to fund large social safety net systems at the expense of their intelligence and military infrastructure. Russia has done the exact opposite, committing itself to undermining the West through both traditional and non-traditional means.
Fallon notes that Russia is using mass migration to pressure Eastern European countries that are aiding Ukraine. Additionally, the Wagner Group is actively stirring chaos in unstable countries in Africa and the Middle East to provoke mass migration to Europe.
Russia is using Poland as a means to amplify illegal immigration and is gaining three advantages from it. First, it creates additional strain on security forces that must patrol the border. Poland faces a dilemma over whom to prioritize - the army or costly measures to cope with the migration crisis.
The second advantage for Russia is intelligence gathering. The Kremlin can learn how Poland responds to the crisis, aiding in the creation of a plan to destabilize the country in the future.
Furthermore, mass illegal migration serves as a means for Russia to intimidate Poland and sow division among NATO allies and the West. Russia is trying to convince the Polish public that mass migration will lead to open military support for Ukraine, which in turn will result in less support for Ukraine from Poland.
This trend of mass migration will not decrease; instead, it will grow if Russia continues to use it to weaken the West.
