US Ambassador to China reassures American businesses amid trade war.

US Ambassador David Perdue sought to reassure American companies in China that the countries would maintain their commercial ties as tensions rise between the world's largest economies due to export controls.
The diplomat stated that the Trump administration is committed to finding common pathways for cooperation with China and supports American companies in the Chinese market. These exchanges occurred against the backdrop of the conflict regarding China's control over critical raw materials, which could jeopardize trade negotiations on tariffs, Bloomberg reports.

The ambassador also addressed members of the US-China Business Council. He held meetings with leaders of American business organizations on the same day, as reported on social media by the American Chamber of Commerce in China.
Since his arrival in China, Perdue has actively communicated with Chinese officials and his diplomatic colleagues. Earlier this week, he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who used the meeting to express his outrage at Washington's recent actions; previously, Perdue had also met with Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu.
