By Train to Poland. A New Carrier Will Appear on the Rava-Ruska – Warsaw Route.


The Polish state operator PKP Intercity will start providing passenger connections between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska from mid-December. This is reported by «Interfax-Ukraine».
«Ukrzaliznytsia» and PKP Intercity are negotiating the launch of a train on the Warsaw – Rava-Ruska route. This issue is being discussed at international meetings attended by both companies», – stated the press service of «Ukrzaliznytsia».
PKP Intercity plans to launch a train consisting of four first and second class carriages. Passengers will be transported by the Kolomyia – Rava-Ruska train.
«The launch of a new route will allow the use of a more comfortable train set with air conditioning, power outlets, two restrooms in each carriage, and more seats», – stated in «Ukrzaliznytsia».
The agreement between «Ukrzaliznytsia» and the Polish company SKPL, which provides the rolling stock on the Rava-Ruska – Warsaw route, is valid until December 14, 2024.
PKP Intercity has previously operated in Ukraine. Until 2013, it provided connections between Wroclaw – Lviv. RIC carriages from PKP IC were used on this route. The train consisted of 4 carriages and departed every other day.
Let us remind you that Polish and Ukrainian railways have signed a new agreement on the joint development of transportation between the countries. According to the agreement, the loading of goods onto different track gauges can be carried out not only by the receiving carriers at their stations but also by carriers at the border station of the country which is delivering the cargo.
From August 1, 2024, ticket sales for many international flights can only be done using the «Diya.Signature» service.
