New traffic rules and fines: when should drivers not turn off the headlights.

In his famous video "Important changes to traffic rules: What threatens drivers without the headlights on?" Oleksandr Metolidi, owner of the "AUTO PROJECT" channel, explains the new traffic rules in Ukraine regarding the use of headlights outside populated areas in detail.
Changes in the rules for using headlights were introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. From now on, Metolidi claims, daytime running lights or low beam headlights must be turned on year-round, regardless of the season. This change applies to all types of vehicles, including cars and motorcycles.
Previously, from October 1 to May 1, drivers outside populated areas had to turn on daytime running lights or low beam headlights if the daytime running lights were not provided by the manufacturer in the vehicle's design. But today, the rules have changed.
Metolidi emphasizes that these changes are very important for ensuring road safety. He refers to international studies and statistics that confirm that having the headlights or daytime running lights on makes the vehicle more visible when moving outside populated areas, regardless of the Time of day or year.
Metolidi mentions a successful experiment conducted in Germany, where the use of headlights outside populated areas significantly reduced the number of accidents and injuries.
At one time in Germany, such studies were conducted... And eventually, over a certain period, it was clearly established statistically that in this area, the number of accidents, injuries, and fatalities significantly decreased. This was much less solely due to the fact that vehicles became more visible outside populated areas.
Metolidi also warns that those who do not comply with new rules may receive a fine of 510 hryvnias under Article 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
At the end of the video, Metolidi calls on all drivers to be responsible and wishes them safe journeys.
