«Lack of brains and skills». The commander of the 'Azov' commented on the problems in the construction of fortifications.

Problems with the construction of fortifications at the front
The commander of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard 'Azov', Denys Prokopenko, reported problems with the construction of fortifications at the front. According to Prokopenko, throughout 2024, the 'Azov' brigade was carrying out stabilization actions in the Lyman and Toretsk directions. However, when building new positions, a wide and multifaceted problem emerged.
In the first case, it was necessary to change units from 'stillborn brigades'. In the second case, one of the brigade commanders was advised to bury the strongholds, but he did not do so, and the Russians later captured them. And in the third case, there was no defense system at all.
Prokopenko noted that officers stopped thinking and did not learn or immerse themselves in studying the area. He emphasized that without knowledge of organization and construction of defense, even with available resources, it is impossible to guarantee sustainability. Prokopenko stressed that in such conditions, the enemy will turn all resources to ash.
We remind you that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is conducting a pre-trial investigation into possible embezzlement of state funds allocated for the construction of fortification structures and defensive lines in Sumy region.
