Ireland and Scotland have been hit by severe weather
Forecasters have issued an extreme weather warning across all of Ireland and in central and southwestern Scotland. As a result of storm 'Eowyn', millions of people have been left without electricity. Authorities have also imposed restrictions, including school closures and the suspension of train and ferry services.
The First Minister of Northern Ireland, Michelle O'Neill, urged the public to be cautious and emphasized the critical nature of the situation.
According to the Irish Electricity Supply Board, over 700,000 households in Ireland and nearly 100,000 in Northern Ireland are without power. Experts claim that this storm is linked to a system that triggered snowfalls in the USA. Climate change could make such storms even stronger and more destructive.
The weather forecast for most of Ukraine predicts cloudy weather, light wet snow, and rain. The wind will be southeastern at a speed of 3-8 m/s. Air temperatures are expected to range from 3° C to -2° C at night and 0-5° C during the day.
In Kyiv, cloudy weather with light wet snow and rain is also expected. Air temperatures at night will be close to 0°, and during the day to 2-4° C. There will be a medium level of fog with visibility from 200 to 500 meters.
