Men with disabilities and military registration: Ministry of Defense clarification on deferments and more.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained the rights and responsibilities of men of conscription age with disabilities regarding military registration
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine provided clarification on the rights and obligations of men of conscription age with disabilities regarding military registration, according to SUD.ua.
Main points:
1. Military registration document: Men aged 18 to 60 with disabilities must have a military registration document with them and present it upon request of authorized persons. If a person is excluded from military registration, the document must have a corresponding mark.
2. Data update: Persons with disabilities who are on military register must update their data at TCSC, CSC or through 'Reserve+' from 18.05.2024 to 16.07.2024.
3. Military Medical Commission (MMC): Persons with disabilities are not assigned a fitness level for military service. They do not undergo MMC for deferment.
4. Deferment: For deferment, persons with disabilities submit relevant documents to the TCSC commission (MSEC certificate, disability identification card, etc.). A MMC decision is not required.
5. Repeated medical examination: The law provides for a repeated examination of persons with disabilities once every 1-3 years, depending on their health condition.
6. Automatic deferment: Deferment may be automatically processed through the 'Obereg' Register, but this process is currently not implemented.
7. Difference in statuses: The status of 'person with disabilities' is not the same as 'unfit for military service'. Persons with disabilities can be accepted into military service by contract with their consent.
The Ministry of Defense notes that work is continuing to organize information interaction between various state registers to streamline procedures related to military registration.
