Zantaraia May Head the Sviatoshyn District of Kyiv
Georgii Zantaraia, world and European judo champion and Kyiv City Council deputy, may become the head of the Sviatoshyn district of Kyiv. This information was reported by the publication 'Hlavkom', citing sport-express.ua.
At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Zantaraia's appointment as head of the Sviatoshyn District State Administration was approved.
It was noted that Zantaraia is a two-Time world champion and European champion in his weight category. He also worked in the Security Service of Ukraine and has been a member of the Kyiv City Council since 2020.
In his sports career, Zantaraia competed in the Olympic Games twice and finished in 17th place. Additionally, Ukrainian judokas won a full set of medals at the World Cup for athletes with visual impairments in Tbilisi. The gold medal was awarded to Anastasiia Harnyk, silver to Anzhela Havrysiuk, and bronze to Davyd Khorava.
The Grand Slam in Tbilisi was an important preparation for Anton Savytskyi. He won in the under 100 kg category, competing against the silver medalist of the 2022 World Championship, Kyle Reyes.
Thus, Zantaraia's appointment as head of the Sviatoshyn district may contribute to the development of sports in the capital.
