A part of the dismissed employees of 'Voice of America' received 30 days to leave the USA.

Dismissed employees of 'Voice of America' who worked in the USA under work visas have been given 30 days to leave the country. This was reported in an interview with Bihus.Info by former journalist of the resource Ostap Yarysh, as reported by 'Glavcom'.
According to the journalist, some employees from authoritarian countries have become targets of criminal proceedings due to their work at 'Voice of America'. They consider it dangerous to return home.
Especially for people from authoritarian countries, it is simply life-threatening to return to those countries they broadcast to, because they are considered American agents, spies, traitors of the homeland, who worked for the enemy
Yarysh added that some journalists from 'Radio Liberty' also found themselves in a similar situation.
In March this year, the Department of Government Efficiency of the USA (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, dismissed journalist Ostap Yarysh from 'Voice of America'.
On March 15, Donald Trump signed a decree to cut USAGM, the parent company of 'Voice of America' and 'Radio Liberty', financially supported by the US government. The decree states that the reason for the reduction is 'the fight against bureaucracy'.
Later, journalists of 'Voice of America' filed a collective lawsuit against the administration of US President Donald Trump and the special advisor of the Global Media Agency (USAGM) Kari Lake over the decision to close media outlets funded by taxpayers.
It is worth noting that 'Voice of America' has been continuously operating since 1942 and was created to fight Nazi propaganda.
