Banks will again tighten the screws on Ukrainians: transfer limits will be cut starting June 1.

New transfer limits in Ukrainian banks starting June 2025
Ukrainian banks will impose restrictions on money transfers starting June 2025. The maximum transfer amount for clients with medium and low risk levels will decrease from 150 thousand to 100 thousand hryvnias. This information is based on a memorandum from the banks dated December 2025, as reported by 'Khvylia' citing RBK-Ukraine.
The restrictions will apply to various financial operations, including card transfers and payments through IBAN accounts. For clients with high risk levels, the limit will remain at 50 thousand hryvnias per month, but exceptions have been made for certain categories of citizens, including those who can document their income.
'Thus, the announced reduction will take place. So far, the signatories of the memorandum have not faced problems with the restrictions. Therefore, no outflow of clients is observed. This was the main concern,' - noted a representative of the banking community.
Starting October 2024, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced restrictions on transfers between cards, which were valid until April 2025. In December 2024, the largest banks in the country adopted a new memorandum with additional conditions for transfers exceeding the limit, requiring documentary confirmation of clients' income.
Banks will individually assess the financial capabilities of clients and set personal limits based on the documents provided. Restrictions on the number of accounts for clients without documentary income confirmation have also been introduced.
